Value to MORS of Membership
Larger membership prestige
Increase ability to advertise meetings, and hence indirect meeting attendance
II. Plan Description and Scope
· Broad project scope / overall project description
Improve membership benefits
Increase number of members
III. Plan Goals and Objectives
· Specific goals and tasks
Launch new web-page
Increase membership in our traditional base of military operations research analysts
Expand our membership in the broader national and international security realms
Expand our membership to everyone supporting decisions, not just operations research analysts
Obtain 1,500 members by June 2009
These need to be expressed in specific line items in Sections V and VI, mostly costs. Will cause some operationalization of these goals: What will we do to expand member base? Advertising? You get the point. (TJMcK)
IV. Benefits of Successful Implementation
· Why must we do this?
Maintain our viability as society
National and international security problems are more integrated than in the past
· What are the revenue generation impacts for the Society?
Membership fees provide a foundation for the socieities activities.
Pay for tasks not covered by the contracts or allowed to be charged to meeting fees
This section needs to become numeric - how much in revenue to we intend to generate? I'm thinking of an embedded Excel file with categories of membership vs dollars, format congruent with budget categories. (TJMcK)
· What are the financial costs of implementation?
Staff support of the members
Material costs
Same comment as for Revenue - this Section needs to be numbers vs. expense categories. Ideally, you could see a balance "bottom line." (TJMcK)
· Are there any risks by implementing the project?
· Are there any risks by not implementing the project?
Not being about to break into wider realms
· Who is involved in implementation?
· Who benefits from implementation?
IX. Plan Phases and Deliverables
· What is the project timeline and associated deliverables with each step?
